Pastors Stephen and Diane Sumrall

Steve and Diane Sumrall

Steve and Diane Sumrall founded Provident Ministries, Feeding The Nations and Christ Chapel Church in 2005. Steve and his wife Diane pastored Christ Chapel church together, considering it a calling and privilege.

Pastor Steve, beloved pastor of Christ Chapel church, went home to be with the Lord January 6th, 2026.

The vision Steve and Diane shared is a mandate from God to bring hope, and life changing help to those in need, and to minister with compassion and love the Good News of the Gospel. Pastor Diane is continuing with this mandate and vision, to bring the Good News of the Gospel to those who need it. She continues to faithfully serve the people of Christ Chapel.

Brad and Leslie Skeens

Leslie and her husband Brad are the Kids Ministry Coordinators at Christ Chapel Church. They have a heart to see children grow in Jesus and have fun when they come to church. Leslie and Brad have 6 children and are veteran homeschool parents. Leslie is also one of the founders of Under the Umbrella, the Charlotte Mason style homeschool co-op that meets at Christ Chapel.

Youth and Worship

Josh and Rachelle Page-Wood

Josh and Rachelle have been on staff with Christ Chapel for over 20 years. Josh is the Student Ministries and Christ Chapel associate Pastor and Rachelle is Christ Chapel’s worship leader. Josh and Rachelle have a heart for people to know God and know their purpose. They are excited to see students grow in their relationship with Christ and have the tool they need to face life’s challenges. They were married in 2005 and have three beautiful children. They also homeschool and Rachelle was also one of the founders of Under the Umbrella, the Charlotte Mason style homeschool co-op that meets at Christ Chapel.

Prime Time Senior Ministry

Bob and Lynn

Bob and Lynn Kline faithfully served as Christ Chapel’s Prime Time Senior Ministry leaders for many years. Bob went home to be with the Lord in February of 2025, and Lynn has continued faithfully serving as the leader of the Prime Time ministry.

Active, fun loving, and full of thankfulness for all of God's faithfulness through the years, the  “Prime Timers” thoroughly enjoy the fellowship with each other (Christ Chapel's 60 and over members) and encouragement from God’s Word. Hebrews 10 tells us to consider how to stir up one another to love and good works and not to neglect to meet together. The Prime Timers love connection and encourage one another through many Christian activities such as concerts, plays, musicals, Seder presentations, special Holiday Suppers and so much more, as the Lord leads.

Maintenance

Mike Vellner

Michael Vellner has been serving the Lord for over 40 years and has been ordained as a minister since 1995. He and his wife, Marylin have been married over 50 years, have three sons and six grandchildren. Mike’s gifting as a Bible teacher presently has him teaching at Westville State Prison and St. Joseph County Jail. He is also an instructor with Prison Fellowship Ministries holding seminars for the State Works Release System. Mike works for Provident in the ministry of helps, as a custodian. He retired from a long custodial career with the school corporation.

Church Receptionist

Becky Clark

Becky Clark has been a member of Christ Chapel church since its founding in 2005. Becky faithfully served in the worship band for many years and now serves every Sunday as part of the a/v team. Becky joined the office staff in 2023 as a part-time receptionist and administrative assistant. Becky also serves as integral part of Under the Umbrella as an administrative assistant.
